Why is it......

...every time we plan a trip out of town suddenly everyone's shoes have holes in them?

Today we took on the task of spending our Christmas gift cards and money. The malls were crowded, the lines were long, and there was no place to park. The kids' monies were burning holes in their pockets. After they had spent all of theirs, they were asking me for more. Then three of the children told me that they had holes in their shoes. Well, holes in the shoes won't do well in the snow of Utah so something had to be done....

We will head north tomorrow hoping to avoid the storms that are predicted to come in the evening all to spend a precious four days with family we completely adore. When we come home from Utah, the kids seem to be more loving and courteous, more willing to get along with each other. Could it be the brisk (freezing) air of Utah?

So, for tonight, our pockets are empty and everyone has a decent pair of shoes. What will tomorrow bring?
