Well, I finally got the results of my cardiology workup. They found that I have mitral valve prolapse. The doctor stated that it is an anomoly of the heart that is congenital and also hereditary. Grandma Ballard had some problems with her mitral valve. They said it was due to her rheumatic fever as a child, but I wonder if possibly it was a genetic thing for her too. The doctor also said that there was very minimal regurgitation, which is good. He wants me to follow up with him and have it checked about every three years. He said that for some reason, people who have MVP are prone to heart palpitations (PVCs). So I am glad for the answers but frustrated that they can't do anything about the PVCs.
