Wyatt Update on Dad

Bill still clings to life in this mortal existence. Lori and Kelli arrived home yesterday evening. Lori has been primary care giver for the last 3 ½ weeks and is physically and emotionally exhausted. The hospice nurse said he only has a few more days, but Lori had expected he would have died at least a week ago. He is nearing 3 weeks with no food. We are all praying that he will soon be relieved of this frail body.

Lori and I stayed up late reminiscing of her childhood memories and weeping together. Bill has had many very difficult trials in his life and has done a good job “enduring to the end”. Lori told me that through all of the pain and suffering of his last days she has not heard one complaint from him. This is a man who, with his love and concern, his smile and happiness, could change lives. I shall never forget his famous greeting. He would approach with his hand outstretched to shake, look you straight in the eyes, and with your hands clasped he would ask, “are you happy?” A man truly concerned with the happiness of others.
